Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-10-04
This policy explains what we, Sigma Store, collect about you when you use sigmastores.net or the Sigma Store app, why we collect it, who handles it for us, and what you can ask us to do with it. It applies to the website and the app together.
Who we are
Sigma Store (سيجما ستور) is a video-game retailer in Egypt. We run sigmastores.net, the Sigma Store app for Android and iPhone, and two branches in Greater Cairo.
Sigma Store is responsible for the personal data described in this policy. You can reach us at:
- Address: Sigma Store, Cairo, Cairo Governorate, Arab Republic of Egypt
- Branches: Nasr City and Sheikh Zayed (Ritzy Mall)
- support@sigmastore.eg
- WhatsApp: +20 100 837 2540
What we collect
We collect only what we need to run the store. Depending on what you use:
- Account: your name, email address, password (stored in a protected form; we never see it), phone and WhatsApp numbers, the delivery address you save, and whether you signed in with your email, with Google or with Apple.
- Orders: the items you bought, the prices, the payment method and whether it was paid, the delivery address for physical items, your phone, WhatsApp and email, your language, any notes you add, and whether you ticked the box for marketing messages. The same goes for a repair you add to your account with the code on its ticket.
- Your wishlist, your loyalty points and tier, and the app offers you used.
- Messages and requests you send us: on WhatsApp, Messenger, Instagram, by email, or through our forms (Sell to Sigma with the photos you attach, gift requests, product requests, Build a Bundle, back-in-stock alerts, the newsletter, feedback and refund requests).
- Reviews you write about a product you bought, published under a short form of your name.
- On the website: your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you visit and what you search for, and the identifier of an ad you clicked to reach us, when there is one. Your IP address and browser are kept with each order you place on the website, for 30 days.
- In the app: whether you use Android or iPhone and the app version, which every request carries; and your language, which is saved with your orders and your account. An order placed in the app keeps no IP address or browser details. The app also keeps a random identifier for your installation so that app offers can be used at the app's checkout; it is not a device or advertising identifier. What you search for in the app is stored for up to 180 days without your name or account, then only as anonymous daily totals.
You can browse the website and the app without an account. An account is needed to buy in the app, to use loyalty points and app offers, and to keep your wishlist across devices.
Why we use it
- To take, confirm and deliver your orders, including sending codes and account details by WhatsApp or email, and to send your receipts.
- To answer your questions and requests, and to handle cancellations, returns and refunds.
- To run the loyalty program, the member card and app offers.
- To keep the store safe: verifying sign-ins, limiting repeated requests, preventing fraud and keeping security logs.
- To send you reminders about your subscriptions, new games and offers by text message or email. You can say no at checkout and stop them at any time (see below).
- To understand how the website is used and to measure our advertising (see the website section below).
- To help our team find past conversations, follow up on questions that were not answered or did not end in an order, and see how quickly we reply and which chats led to an order, from the messages you send our Facebook page on Messenger.
- To keep the records that the law and our accounting require.
We do not sell your personal data.
Cookies, local storage and analytics on the website
The website keeps some data in your browser (cookies and local storage) so it can work: your sign-in session, your cart, your language and country, your wishlist and recent searches, a promo code you entered, the reference and email address of your last order, links to orders and bundle quotes you made without an account, and whether you closed the newsletter pop-up. For 30 days it also keeps the ad you clicked to reach us and its campaign, so that an order can be credited to that ad. Clearing your browser data removes all of this.
The website also loads these third-party tools. Each sets its own cookies or identifiers:
- Google Analytics: how the site is used (pages, clicks, purchases), so we can improve it.
- Meta Pixel: measures our Facebook and Instagram ads, including purchases and products added to the cart.
- TikTok Pixel: measures our TikTok ads.
- ChatGPT Ads pixel: measures our ads shown in ChatGPT.
- Microsoft Clarity: heat maps and recordings of how pages are used, so we can find what is confusing.
- Cloudflare Web Analytics: page view counts, without cookies.
- Sentry: error reports when something breaks, and page-speed measurements from a share of visits. A small share of visits is also recorded, with all text and anything you type hidden. If you are signed in, these reports and recordings carry your account ID and email address.
When you place an order on the website, our server also reports it to TikTok and to ChatGPT's ad service; an order paid by card or wallet is reported once the payment goes through, and a split payment once its card part does. The report carries the order value and items, the ad you clicked and the browser IDs their tools set, your IP address and browser, your country, city and governorate (to ChatGPT's ad service only), and your email address and phone number (for ChatGPT's ad service also your name) in hashed form, a one-way scramble the network can match against its own users but cannot read. Orders placed in the app are never reported.
We do not show a cookie banner. You can block these tools with your browser's settings or an ad blocker; the store works without them. Google, Meta and TikTok also offer their own ad settings.
The Sigma Store app
The app has no advertising tools, no advertising identifiers and no analytics tools: apart from crash reporting, all we record about how the app is used is what you search for, without your name or account. If the app crashes or hits an error, it can send a report to Sentry with the error, what the app was doing just before it, the app version, and your phone's model and system version; it can also tell Sentry whether each session ended in a crash. These reports carry a random ID that Sentry makes for the installation, and never your name, email address, phone number or address. The app talks only to our own servers and to the services named below.
What the app keeps on your phone: your sign-in session (with your account details and saved delivery address), your cart, wishlist and recent searches, the contact details you gave for a back-in-stock alert, your language, a payment you started (for up to 24 hours) and a copy of catalogue pages (for up to 24 hours) so they open faster. Signing out removes your session and account details from the phone. Your cart, wishlist and recent searches stay on it until you delete your account in the app, which clears them all.
Payments in the app open our payment provider's page (inside the app on Android, in Safari on iPhone). The app never sees your card details.
If you turn on notifications, the app registers a push token for your phone with our server, together with the platform and your language, so we can send you order updates, back-in-stock alerts and announcements. Turning notifications off or signing out removes it.
The app opens WhatsApp, your phone app and your maps app when you choose to; those apps have their own privacy policies. It opens this policy, the terms and, on iPhone, the page you return to after paying by card or wallet from our website on their own, without the website's advertising, analytics and error-reporting tools; Cloudflare still counts those visits, without cookies. Other features open pages of our website in your phone's browser view (Build a Bundle, Sell to Sigma, product requests, merch and the FAQ); those work like the rest of the website, with the tools described above.
Marketing messages
If you have bought from us, online or in one of our branches, in the last 24 months, we may send you reminders about your subscriptions, new games and offers by text message or email. At checkout on the website and in the app there is a box for this, ticked by default: untick it if you do not want them. We may also text or email you if you joined the newsletter or asked for a back-in-stock alert.
You can stop at any time: use the stop link in our marketing emails, or message us on WhatsApp or email us and we will take you off the list. You will still receive messages about orders you place.
How long we keep it
- Account details: for as long as your account exists.
- Orders and sales records, including trade-ins we bought from you: kept after your account is deleted, because our accounting and the law require them.
- Loyalty points: reset to zero after 12 months without an online order. If you delete your account you lose them; the record of the points you earned and spent stays with your orders.
- Messenger conversations with our Facebook page: our own copy keeps their text for 60 days. After that we keep, for each conversation, a short summary, the name on your Messenger profile, any phone number you wrote in it, what you asked about and the order it led to, if any. The conversation itself stays in our page's Messenger inbox. Deleting your account does not remove these; ask us on WhatsApp or by email and we will.
- Other messages, and requests sent through our forms: kept with your customer record. Deleting your account clears your details from Sell to Sigma and gift requests that did not go through, and your email address from feedback you sent. Messages you sent us on WhatsApp, Instagram or by email, and your product and back-in-stock requests, are kept until you ask us to remove them.
- Security logs: up to 400 days, with IP addresses stored in hashed form and the browser or app each logged request came from. The IP address and browser kept with an order placed on the website: 30 days; the ad you clicked to reach us, its campaign and the ChatGPT ad tool's browser ID stay with the order. An order placed in the app keeps none of these.
- What you search for on the website and in the app: up to 180 days, without your name or account; after that only anonymous daily totals for each search term are kept.
- Marketing lists: we message you until you unsubscribe, or until 24 months have passed since your last purchase; after you unsubscribe we keep your entry marked as unsubscribed, so we do not message you again.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account yourself, in the app or on the website:
- In the app: Account > Delete account, then type the confirmation word.
- On the website: sign in, open the page below, then type the confirmation word.
sigmastores.net/account/delete
If your last sign-in was more than 10 minutes ago, you are asked to sign in again first, so that nobody can delete your account from an unlocked phone.
What is deleted: your sign-in and account, and the personal details saved with it: your name, email address, phone and WhatsApp numbers, and saved delivery address. Your wishlist goes, and so do your Build a Bundle requests, with their quotes. Sell to Sigma and gift requests that did not go through lose your name, contact details, notes and photos, feedback you sent us loses your email address, and the phones registered for notifications are removed. You are signed out on every device.
What is kept: your orders, each with the name, phone and WhatsApp numbers, delivery address, items and the email address its receipt was sent to; the details of anything you sold to Sigma; your repairs; and reviews you published, under the short name they show. These are our sales records, which accounting rules and the law require us to keep. Offer and reminder messages, and back-in-stock alerts you asked for, keep coming until you unsubscribe or ask us to stop them.
What you lose: your Sigma points and your tier, which can't be brought back, and seeing, tracking or cancelling your orders yourself, in the app or on the website; for help with one, contact us on WhatsApp. A wholesale account, or an account our team has to check, is closed by our team instead, and the page tells you so. If you cannot sign in, contact us and we will delete the account for you.
Your rights
You can ask us at any time to:
- Show you the personal data we hold about you, and give you a copy.
- Correct it. Your name, phone and WhatsApp numbers can be changed on your account page.
- Delete it, as described above.
- Stop marketing messages.
Write to support@sigmastore.eg or message us on WhatsApp. We may ask you to confirm it is your account before we act. If you believe we handled your data unlawfully, you can also complain to the competent authority in Egypt.
Children
The website and the app are not for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. To buy, you must be 18 or older, or have a parent's or guardian's permission. If you think a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
Everything travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Passwords are stored in a protected form. Full card numbers go to Paymob only. Deleting an account needs a recent sign-in, and repeated attempts are limited. Access to customer data inside Sigma is limited to the staff who need it for their work.
Changes to this policy
When we change this policy we update the date at the top. For a change that matters to you, we also say so on the website or in the app.
Governing law
This policy is governed by the laws of the Arab Republic of Egypt.
